To briefly explain what occurred: one of our host servers experienced a hardware failure and was intermittently rejoining and leaving the cluster. During this time, all virtual machines on the affected host were offline. Once services were restored and virtual machines were brought back online on a standby host, the instability of the failed host caused certain virtual machines to exist simultaneously in two locations on the same shared storage. This resulted in filesystem inconsistencies and potential data corruption on some virtual machines.
While our team has worked to restore all affected services, we ask that you thoroughly check your website, emails, and any application data for any discrepancies such as missing files, missing content, or database errors.
If you identify any issues:
• Customers on a backup plan: Please contact our support team and we will restore your data from your most recent backup.
• Customers not on a backup plan: Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee full data recovery in this instance. We recommend restoring from any backup you may hold on your side. If required, we are able to provision a fresh virtual machine for you to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
We sincerely apologise for any disruption this has caused. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our support team via hosting@cybersmart.co.za or WhatsApp 0640329224 who are ready to assist.
