An Addon Domain allows you to host an additional, fully independent website from a single cPanel account, complete with its own unique domain name, email accounts, and web files.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Log in to cPanel.
-
Scroll to the Domains section and click Domains (or Addon Domains if your cPanel theme uses the legacy interface).
-
Click the Create A New Domain button.
-
Enter your new domain name in the Domain field (e.g.,
newdomain.co.za). -
Deselect / Uncheck the option that says "Share document root (
/public_html) with “yourprimarydomain.com”". -
Specify the Document Root folder where your new website files will live (cPanel will automatically populate this as
/newdomain.co.zaor/public_html/newdomain.co.za). -
Click Submit or Create.
Note: Once created, allow up to 24–48 hours for DNS propagation worldwide before the domain fully resolves to your hosting server.
You can immediately install SSL via AutoSSL or set up email accounts under the new domain from your cPanel dashboard.
